NEWS!

This February Stephanie starred in the Off-Broadway revival of Seesaw at Theatre Row. She played the role of Gittel Mosca, the funny, quick-witted, Jewish girl from the Bronx who falls in love with a straight laced lawyer from Nebraska. Broadway World said, "The choicest songs (the comical view of personal ineptitude "Nobody Does It Like Me" and the ferocious declaration of personal empowerment "I'm Way Ahead") and the zingiest punch lines go to Gittel, and Stephanie Israelson expertly delivers on both ends, giving a solidly funny and open-hearted performance, sung with traditional musical theatre gusto. Much of the humor is derived from Gittel's low self-esteem, and perhaps isn't as acceptable today as it was in '73, but Israelson successfully portrays her character's growth from a woman who depends on men to define her value to one determined figure it out for herself."

Stephanie is about to enter the finals in the Comedy Mob Festival at Stand Up NY! After 300 stand up comedians submitted, 60 were picked for the preliminary rounds, where she came in first place, she made it through the semi-finals, and is elated to perform with only 11 other comedians in the final round!

On the heels of her Off-Broadway debut last year in John Cariani's LOVE/SICK, Stephanie played one of her dream roles, Val, in A Chorus Line at the John W Engeman Theater on Northport, Long Island.

The NY Times loved the show and mentioned Stephanie in their review:

"Among the standouts is Stephanie Israelson, who delivers a mischievous“Dance: Ten; Looks: Three,” the comic song in which her character, Val, sings about how silicone and surgery helped her get roles. The fun she’s having with Edward Kleban’s clever lyrics and Marvin Hamlisch’s music, robust here but often lyrical in other songs, is infectious."

Stephanie performed in the Off-Broadway hit, My Big Gay Italian Wedding. She then filmed some TV and commercials, notably as a co-star as the bride in an episode of the anticipated new Amazon Prime series, Red Oaks.
